Last year, Huffington Post had an article about a running hashtag on twitter, #RapeCultureIsWhen, address what rape culture looks like in our society. I just wanted to include this article int this blog because it pulled together all of the other aspects of RapeCulture that this blog discusses. But also this hashtag shows the impact that social media can have on people and their understanding of societal problems. Even though sometimes the issues can get lost within social media, with trolls or someone not understanding or someone just being unnecessarily difficult, I think that this hashtag does a good job of providing examples of rape culture and the platform that is used for it allows for anyone to click on the hashtag and to educate themselves a bit about what rape culture is. Especially since our society is moving towards more and more exposure to social media, I think this is a good place to start.
